Other hat loving bloggers

Filed under: Other Millinery people — Cristina de Prada @ 11:21 pm

I’ve been seeking (desperately), trying to find other bloggers out there that share my love for hats and although they don’t abound, there seem to be a few.
For starters I very much recommend The Sewist which I loved. It’s fun and it’s full of great pictures and stories.
Know of any others? Please post a comment!

  1. What is this? A comment??????
    Yup, absolutely, Si, ja…
I like your blog, and I admire the time and dedication you have. You must really love this hat-doing thing.
For the stranger reading, don’t let my email fool you. I am in no way related to Cristina!

  2. I love the pictures of the Catrinette 2006 hat.

Here’s a blog from my millinery teacher:

Also, not a blog, but a great hatmaking site in the UK

    http://www.how2hats.com
    http://www.hatcourses.co.uk
    http://www.hatblocks.co.uk

And a link to a Hat Life email list: email that you are interested. They publish a hatmaker directory and are highlighting students this year. I think they need a picture and bio, but email for details.

  3. Thank you! I will check the blog of your millinery teacher!
I did know about the uk websites, but I have not had the time to add all the links yet 🙂 I have a couple of blocks from them and they are wonderful, and the ebooks are also really well done!

I also took her millinery classes here in Houston, Texas. She is currently living and working (drafting hat patterns and writing a book) in St. Gallen, Switzerland.

  5. Hi!

I’m another blogger who writes about millinery! (Well, among other things–i’m a costume crafts artisan for professional theatre, so in addition to hats i also write about shoemaking, masks, armormaking, etc. I just got through teaching a graduate seminar in millinery though, so recent entries have been extremely hat-heavy!

I’m so excited to have found your blog–i’m going to link to it in my sidebar if you don’t mind! Please feel free to link to mine as well if you like. It’s called “La Bricoleuse,” and is located here:

  7. Hello!

I have been following your blog for awhile now and envy the wide array on information you offer.

I am a milliner in the US and teach all over the US plus internationally from time to time. I have just started my blog and would love for you to check it out– janshatshatshats.blogspot.com . It will be heavily slanted toward techniques, suppliers, books/periodicals, millinery classes, and whatever else I can think of that a milliner (or would-be milliner) would be intersted in.

    Keep up the good work!
